That Dumb Scale!!

So about a month ago I got a thing in the mail that said I could try out the new snap fitness in Cedar City for free if I participated in a "fitness study." The only requirement was that you couldn't currently be working out (for once that played in my favor!). So I've been doing that the last three weeks, three times a week, and I've been going to the funnest thing ever...ZUMBA...with my friend Brea twice a week. Last week I worked out 6 out of the 7 days! I'm really trying to get back into shape and seriously, I don't think I have sweated (doesn't sound right) that much since cheerleading in high school-I'm not a big sweater-but I've been dripping sweat after Zumba and my workouts at Snap. Yesterday was my last day at the fitness study and I decided to weigh myself on the same scale I weighed myself on last week and (no need for a drum roll) it turns out I gained a freaking pound!!! I didn't even lose a single pound. Drew says this is because muscle weighs more than fat and I probably got a lot more muscley. I think he was just trying to make me feel better. The frustrating thing is that I know I'm capable of weighing a lot less. I don’t want to tell you how much weight I’ve gained since I got married. Yes, I look okay in clothes, but summer is coming quickly and I am nowhere near bikini ready. Yes, I am trying to help my husband gain more weight by making him fattening food, but I don’t want that to be my excuse. Yes, I probably love chocolate way too much but what girl doesn’t? Yes, my 8 month pregnant friend weighs just 5 pounds more than me. Yes, if you haven't noticed yet, I am venting!!! HELP!! What’s the secret?? Ha ha…I need some words of encouragement…or something! If you've gotten this far, thanks for listening!

Valentine's Weekend

How exciting, instead of just having one Valentine's date we decided to each plan our own little thing so Drew took Saturday and I took Sunday. When I got home from the gym on Saturday morning, I came home to these beauties...there were so many of my favorite flowers all in one beautiful bouquet!
I'm holding the bouquet like it's my baby. The only baby I can afford/need at the moment :)

These pictures were taken after a long day in the kitchen cooking, which is why I look so tired! I cooked so much food, I was pretty proud of myself. I made salmon, rice, steamed asparagus, and a chocolate cream pie!
Oh! But i forgot to finish what we did Saturday! Drew made breakfast then I cut his hair, got ready, and we went and washed my filthy car. Then we went and loaded up on medicine (cuz we are both so sick!) and went to Chili's (my chicken was in the shape of a heart) and then to Valentine's Day! I've heard a few people say they hated that movie but I just loved it! I laughed and cried too! Anyways, we had an awesome weekend and hope that you did too!!

Trotting the Globe to Cedar City

So one day Drew decided to put his name in a drawing (12 times) to win tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters that were coming to Cedar. The next day we're sitting at home with the radio on and we hear Drew's name...He won tickets!! So we went with our soon-to-be-married friends Bailey and Taylor and had a fun time! That blow-up thing that we like to call Globie was cracking us all up. It's not everyday that something decides to show up in Cedar City so we're glad we could take advantage of a free night and have some fun!
Oh and the last picture is of Drew and two of his favorite things...snow and that darn jeep :)

Oh December...

I just have to say that I miss December SO MUCH already! It is so much fun to be able to leave life in Cedar and head up to Roy for a few weeks! Drew and I had so much fun over the last few weeks and now we're back to life, ready to take down all my Christmas decorations.
Life in Roy was spent playing A LOT of cards and games! We also went to the lights at Temple Square, we went to a performance by the Utah Symphony, ate WAY too much food, went snowboarding for the first time in two years (since junior high for Drew), went to the temple, , went to the cute lil' Bee's cafe in Roy with mine and Drew's parents, went bowling and to Ligori's for Whitney's birthday, got some pictures taken by the wonderful Kelli Willard (KelliWillardphotography.blogspot.com), made lots of Christmas candy, played in the snow with Bella, did LOTS of shopping, watched 24 into the wee hours of morning, Bertagnolli family Christmas party (always a hoot!), tested out my new sewing machine (which was a lot of fun, I'm a little nervous to use it without my mom standing by, but excited to try new things), and not to mention all of the Christmas festivities! Sometimes it's a little stressful dividing the time between whose parents' house we will be spending time at but I've come to the realization that it will never be exact and you're never going to make everyone happy. We had a nice Christmas Eve dinner with my family and played the present game, opening some awesome yoga pants (does this mean I have to take up Yoga? I think not! ha!), did a little Christmas mischief, and headed over to ma and pa Willards to watch a movie and hit the hay. The tradition in Drew's family is that they get to go get their stockings in the middle of the night so Drew headed up at 3:30 a.m. and got his then we went back to sleep. We opened all our presents there and then headed over to my Grandpa's house to visit with my extended family. Then finally at about 3:00 we went to my mom's house to do our Christmas there. We opened my stocking at about 6:00 so our Christmas day lasted a very long time, lots of fun!
I'm so grateful for FAMILY! My family is incredible and I love spending time with everyone. i hate that it can't be more often but it's also fun to be able to stay for a while. I hope you all had a great Christmas! And HAPPY NEW YEAR! Bring it on SUU, here goes my last semester!

Long Hair Please!!

Ok, so I have decided (and I'm not changing my mind) that I'm growing my hair back out! I like my short hair and all but there are only like 2 things I can do with it-straighten it and flip it out-so I'm throwing in the towel and growing my hair out. It might be a process but I can't wait to be able to pull my hair back into a ponytail again. I would love to be able to just pull it up on my way to work at 6:00 a.m. So, nobody try to talk me out of it :) And I can't wait to curl it and braid it and do more than 2 things to it. My goal is for it to look like Miss Reese's. (I can hope right??)

I also would like to say that I am SO EXCITED that Drew is currently on the road for his last game of the season! No more practices every day, I can have my husband back! Don't get me wrong, I love that football is getting Drew through school and also helping out with our rent but I am BURNT OUT!! I love game days but that's about it these days. I truely have a love/hate relationship with football, but after Sunday I will be a happy camper. That is until January when Spring training starts back up again. I guess I could call this a bit of a venting post because I sure am complaining a lot, but I just can't wait til Monday!

Christmas??

Ok, so I have a predicament...I own 3 Fall time decorations and I'm a little antsy to get my Christmas stuff out because I have a lot of Christmas stuff. I always made fun of the people that would decorate so soon but I want to! I don't know how much time Drew and I will even be spending at our house because we'll hopefully be going home for the majority of the holidays so I want to see them up for a good chunk of time :) Anyways, I wanna know what you think, when can I start decorating!?

San Luis Obispo Trip!

Me and Brea at the sad, sad football game. We lost 23-24. Missed a field goal with 7 seconds left in the game. It was so sad, we felt so bad for those boys.
It was an awesome vacation and we had a lot of fun, the only thing that would have been better would have been spending some time with our husbands. Those coaches basically keep them under lock and key on game weekends. I would have loved to at least spend a few hours with him at the beach or something, but ya win some and ya lose some.
Loving the beach! It wasn't that warm but we still had a lot of fun jumping and playing with the star fishes! Brea is holding onto her little baby bump :) It's another boy by the way!

We went to a castle in San Luis Obispo called 'Hurst Castle.' It's a big tourist attraction in California and to tell you the truth, the only real impressive things were the pools. This indoor one above was tiled everywhere and the whole pool was 12 feet deep. The ladders on the sides are made out of granite and go all the way to the bottom of the pool. And if you look on the right side of the picture towards the middle there's a cool platform thing. Too bad these awesome pools never get used!

This pool was AWESOME! Both sides had huge Greek decks that were just calling my name. How luxurious...too bad nobody has used these pools for years! I sent this picture to my family and told them this was our hotel pool. Ha, I can wish right??
Yuki (Brea's sister-in-law), Brea, and me had to take advantage of the decor :)
Riding on the airplane. Our plane from LA to San Luis Obispo was TINY! It was a 30 seater with propellers on the sides. Yikes and it was SO LOUD! But a fun experience, we got to walk out on the runway and walk up the stairs that fold out of the plane. Kinda like you see in the movies. I wanted to run out to the plane yelling, "Hold that plane! Hold that plane!" Ha ha I'm a Dumb and Dumber fanatic! So fun.
We forgot about the time change from Cedar City to Las Vegas so we sat at the airport for a while. I put in a dollar, won a dollar, then lost it back. Not a great first gambling experience.

Away Game...

Drew had a game at Utah State about a month ago (yes, I am slow, I know) and it was more like a home game for us considering we had the most family there than there will ever be at a game here in Cedar. It was tons of fun having all that family to be with and I actually headed up to Roy a few days early to hang out with my family. I even surprised my mom, it was great :) The top picture is me and my siblings...we just happened to be sitting in "order of arrival." The game was really frustrating, the coach was playing a defense that wasn't working and Drew wasn't in so he was a little sad after the game cuz he didn't even get to show all of the family his skills. Ha ha. Anyways, yes that's a few posts in a row about football but let's face it, football is my life from August til April-excluding December.

Frustrating...

Well I've tried to upload pictures two different times but my internet keeps disconnecting before they upload so I'm giving up for the night. (Guess that's what I get for stealing internet). Ha ha. Happy Fall!!
